Part of HDB facade falls down from Hougang block

By: Kheng-Liang Tan

In the latest spate involving a series of external structures falling off from HDB buildings, a slab of plaster fell 12 floors yesterday morning (27 Nov) from a block of flat in Hougang.

A HDB spokesman said that the plaster is “part of the façade and is non-structural”, and that the HDB has gotten in touch with AMK Town Council regarding the incident.

Although the slab did not injured anyone, it appeared that fragments of debris had dented the roof of a lorry parked nearby.

The block in question was built in 1991 and located under the purview Ang Mo Kio Town Council.
