On Monday (28 Nov), Scoot said that investigations are ongoing as a video of sparks coming out of an engine of one of its planes went viral on Chinese micro-blogging site Weibo.
A user said that his friend was flying from Sydney to Singapore onboard TZ001 on Saturday (26 Nov) when the incident happened.
His friend had allegedly heard “a loud bang” approximately 30 to 40 minutes before the plane landed.
The video has since been republished on YouTube and can be accessed here.
In a statement, Scoot said the plane encountered “an incident during the descent into Singapore which necessitated a shut-down of the right engine” and that the crew had requested “fire services to be on standby on landing”.
The airline added that safety was of utmost importance to its guests.
